Apparently decor items that have a modern style yet also have a surprisingly feminine twist, have been catching my eye recently. Not sure why exactly, but I’m going with it regardless. During the course of this latest kick, I’ve found several modern drum pendant lighting fixtures that fit into this category. The first one is by Quoizel.
After a tour through a local lighting store, I found myself admiring Quoizel’s Light Utopia Large Pendant in Mystic Black. It’s very simple, yet the overlay of the second sh
ade with its leaf motif, helps give this double drum pendant light the feminine twist I’ve been searching for. The Light Utopia line has small pendants, flush mount light fixtures and other styles available so it would easily coordinate from room to room.
The next drum pendant light that caught my eye is surprisingly, made out of chrome. Usually when I think of chrome I think of a strong masculine design. But this drum pendant definitely has a touch of femininity, thanks in part to the curves. Check out ET2′s Percussion Large Pendant to see for yourself. Like the previous drum pendant light, the
ET2 also makes several other light fixture designs to help you coordinate from room to room.
The last modern drum pendant is by Laura Ashley. Now I know what you are thinking, Laura Ashley does have some pretty feminine and beautiful lighting fixtures. But this one is much more subtle. Even with the ruffles, the Laura Ashley Lighting PXS244 is stunning, yet a surprisingly contemporary drum pendant lamp.
No matter which modern drum pendant you choose remember that you do have choices. You don’t have to choose the “ultra modern masculine look” when it comes to your lighting. And you also don’t have to choose the frilly lace and shiny baubles options, either! You can find an understated feminine look with your lighting even in the modern design world. You just have to be willing to look beyond the first few lamps you browse across.
