Rita, I understand your dilemma but if I were you, I’d install new cabinet hardware on the uppers first and then add the lower cabinet handles later on. Because the upper cabinets are at eye level they more attention and will create a bigger impact then the lower level cabinets.
Before purchasing: ask yourself how long until you can purchase the rest of the hardware? Because styles change and if it will take you a while to save up more money the same hardware may not be available. So ask yourself if you would be okay having to coordinate a similar style? If not, wait until you can afford all the hardware to purchase. Also look online and at outlets to see if you can find the same hardware at a better price somewhere else, maybe then you could purchase it all at once!
