Do you want to give your walls some dimension but don’t know where to start for gaining some wall inspiration ideas? Consider this: You can use paint to give your walls character. For example: try painting boxes, stripes or murals. You don’t have to use wallpaper or excessive molding to add depth, just use a second paint color instead.
If you know what type of pattern you want but aren’t sure if it will work, consider sketching it out first. You can sketch out your design in chalk. If you don’t like it, simply erase it and try again! Should you not have any ideas as to what type of a design you want on your walls, try tapestry, fabrics or wallpaper for inspiration concepts to get you going.
Paint stripes to help give a wall some pizzazz! You can use different colors or use the same color in different sheen’s. All you need to create a stripped wall is a tape measure, level and painters tape!
Paint boxes to add depth. Instead of locking down with molding. This is a great technique if you are not sure what type of design or molding you want to add. Painting boxes instead of nailing up molding will give you more versatility later on and it will also allow you to decide if the shape and sizes of your boxes work with your space.
It doesn’t matter what your space looks like, you can easily add depth and pizzazz by simply adding more paint. Whether it’s a mural, some stripes or a box molding design. A little time, paint and planning can have a big effect!
